Summary


The hiring company is the leading supplier of building envelope products such as curtainwall wall, architectural windows, storefront systems and architectural glass.

Generation and review of engineering documentation (proposal drawings, shop drawings, bills of materials, fabrication drawings, etc.) utilizing extensive industry knowledge to ensure accuracy when compared to contract documents, to confirm proper product application, to meet required schedule end-dates, and to assist in training of other technicians within the department.


Responsibilities


-- Meet submission & fabrication schedules

-- Revise drawings as required, per red line markups and written directions

-- Review shop drawings prior to submission to ensure proper product application

-- Liaise with architects, engineers, and project managers to gather product and structural requirements and designs

-- Generate fabrication drawings from approved shop drawings utilizing AutoCAD and the company’s proprietary software

-- Develop shop-drawing plans, elevations, wall sections and details for architectural aluminum products, from estimate takeoff, project
     specifications, architectural and structural drawings utilizing AutoCAD


Qualifications


-- Related experience must include working with the following: storefront, curtainwall, window wall, unitized, sunshades, shadowboxes, etc.

-- Seven (7) years related experience in the curtainwall industry preferred

-- Must have excellent math skills (geometry and trigonometry)

-- Must be capable of reading architectural plans and structural drawings

-- Must have the ability to accurately analyze contract documents, submittals, and application data by concentrating on engineering
     drawings and product information for long periods of time

-- Must have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, schedule-driven department

-- Must have advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Parametric Software

     (such as Revit, Inventor, Solidworks) is preferred

-- Building Envelope systems knowledge preferred along with understanding of product installation.

-- Must have regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures

-- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a technical drafting degree or certificate in a related technical field preferred

-- Seven (7) years of work experience in curtainwall is required
