BizMuz

Welcome To BizMuz (Pronounced: Bizz-Muse)

As a former musician turned entrepreneur, I understand the struggles of balancing artistic passion with the practicalities of running a successful business. That's why I created 'BizMuz' a free consulting service to help artisans improve the business side of what they do.

Whether you're a musician, comedian, photographer, graphic designer or any other type of artisan, I can offer insights and guidance on everything from marketing and branding to pricing and distribution.   I have 'parked' this page on my company's website so you, if curious, can see I have been doing management consulting since 2001 for architects, engineers, contractors and more.

I have a passion for the arts
and for business and truly enjoy merging the two together.  Typically, we discuss where you are in your career, where you want to go and I challenge you to review certain processes that may be overlooked.  My goal is to help you turn your passion into a thriving business, so you can focus on what you love most: creating beautiful, unique works of art.

I budget four hours each week to just hop on a call or web-conference and 'talk shop'.

-------------------

Just like my professional clients, the first thing we do is review what you are doing not to promote your art.  I have development a marketing audit which we can review together or I can send you a hardcopy, you can complete it and then we can reconnect to review.

My 'word picture' for this is I am much like a golf instructor.  You are obviously 'playing golf' but there are typically small adjustments that can be made to improve your game.

Example:  If you are considering quitting your day job and looking to make your art your full-time job, then I have a 'Pro Forma' I strongly encourage you to review.  If you are not familiar with what a Pro Forma is, in our case, it is a financial statement using assumptions or hypothetical conditions about events that may have occurred in the past or which may occur in the future.

More simply, it breaks down possible expenses vs. revenue opportunities...how many shows and at what price you need to charge to make sure you don't have to go back to your previous day job.

Example:  We talk about networking and how to leverage a 'side-door' approach to get others to notice you.

There's so much more.  I just enjoy being able to dip my toe in the water that my other passion, music/art.
